Heaton Mersey Tennis Club runs 4 Men's Teams & 3 Ladies' teams in the North East Cheshire Lawn Tennis League, currently the Men's 1st team and the Ladies 1st team both play in Division 1 in their respective leagues.
Competitive match tennis is important at the club but is not the only measure of our success, As Covid restrictions have eased we are able to resume our very well attended, social doubles session for all standards on Sunday afternoons throughout the year. This takes place on our all weather beautifully maintained artificial grass courts.
We have four floodlit, astroturf courts situated at the Heatons Sports Club. We currently have about 60 junior members and 145 adult members, four men's league teams and three ladies' teams in the North East Cheshire Lawn Tennis Summer League. We also have 7 Mixed teams in the Winter League.
Our Clubhouse is shared as part of The Heatons Sports Club with Heaton Mersey Cricket Club, Heaton Mersey Lacrosse Club & Heaton Moor Rugby Club and preferential rates apply should you wish to also play any of the other sports at the club. Junior additional sports fees are particularly attractive and most juniors play more than one sport with us.
We have an extremely active social side to the club. Tennis social play for adults takes place every Sunday afternoon and all standards are welcome to come along and join in - the club Sports Bar is open every evening and is well used following social sessions!
We hold several club tournaments through the year which are very popular with almost all members taking part in the mixed doubles where your partner is drawn from a hat - making for some very interesting pairings of keen 1st team players and social players!
The club is extremely welcoming and whatever your standard of play, you are certain of a very warm welcome. Please email on hmtennis@gmail.com to arrange to come along to the social session for free on up to 2 occasions and see whether you would like to join.
